Want to get notice of when a bill is going to be heard, but you don’t have time to check the legislative hearing notices every day? You can sign up to track (follow) certain bill(s) and then get e-mail notices every time an action is taken on the bill. This way you won’t miss a beat and will know when it’s time for you to take action.
The first step in Bill Tracking is visiting the Hawaii State Legislature’s website and registering http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/login/register.aspx. Registering with the Legislature’s website will allow you to create personalized measure tracking lists, submit testimony without the need to re-enter required information, and receive hearing notice notification by e-mail. You can sign in anytime on the website to check, update, and edit your account.
Once you’ve completed your registration, you can choose to follow (track) the bills you are interested in and you can also choose to receive notifications for when a specific bill and/or committee will have hearings.
- To track a specific bill, click on the “Measure Tracking” button at the center of the website. You can then create a list, or many lists, of the bill(s) you want to track.
- To receive notifications for when a specific bill and/or committee scheduled for a hearing click on the “Hearing Notification” button in the middle of the page. You can then add the measures and/or committees you wish to receive notices for.
